Winter Seed Sowing of Native Plants Workshop
Join us for an inspiring, hands-on introduction to gardening with nature to support ecosystems and pollinators. Learn about the importance of native plants, how to harvest their seeds, and see a demonstration of the winter sowing process. This simple, low-cost, eco-friendly method for starting seeds makes it easy to cultivate thriving native gardens right at home.
Each participant will create a mini greenhouse of native plants to take home. All materials are provided.

About the Instructor
Janice Novet has spent more than 20 years focused on ecosystem-supporting gardening methods for the home gardener. She is a passionate advocate for native plants and the many ways they sustain pollinators and local ecosystems. You can often find her at the Pleasant Valley Community Gardens or tending her own native plant gardens, where she shares her knowledge and love of ecological gardening practices with others.

Material fees cover the costs of supplies, and proceeds also help support the Garden’s preservation, programming, and educational initiatives.
